We have a new addition at our home for rescued baby girls near Dharmapuri, India. Her name is Sarah Elizabeth.
Sarah is from a remote village near Dharmapuri. Her father and mother are both poor and illiterate. Last weekend Sarah’s mother delivered triplets; Sarah and her sister and brother. Sarah’s sister died at birth.
Sarah’s family only wanted to keep her brother, thinking Sarah would be a burden to them. The thought of feeding, clothing and raising Sarah, in addition to paying a dowry at the time of her marriage, was more than they could bear.
Sarah’s family was searching for a way to end her life when our house church leader in that village found out. She visited Sarah’s family and told them about our girl’s home. She said that we would take Sarah and raise her as our own.
In a recent post on this blog I told about our India Well Project and the dedication of our new larger home for rescued girls. Because of this recent expansion we are able to receive Sarah into our home.
We will raise Sarah, as well as her four sisters currently living in our home, to become Godly women. We will help them find and fulfill their destiny in Christ.
Would you please pray and consider helping us raise these girls by becoming a sponsor?
The suggested amount is $100 per month but any amount will make a tremendous difference in the lives of these girls.
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor please Contact Me. Thank you.

India Well Project
During my recent trip to India, I visited the original house church that Carolyn and I helped Pastor Shine Thomas start nearly twelve years ago.
That one house church has grown into a network of house churches reaching 88 previously unreached villages throughout Dharmapuri and Salem Districts in South India.
One of the many outreach activities taking place through our network of house churches is a home for girls that we have rescued from infanticide.
Female infanticide has a long history in India because of the widespread cultural preference for sons. Girls in India are seen as an economic burden on their parents.
Parents who give their daughters in marriage usually pay for the wedding and give a large dowry to the groom’s family. Though outlawed, the practice of dowry is still pervasive in Indian society.
Human rights groups estimate that at least 10,000 cases of female infanticide occur yearly, primarily in poor rural areas.
Parts of Tamil Nadu, particularly Dharmapuri and Salem Districts where we are working, have the highest rates of female infanticide.
We currently have four rescued girls in our care. Our plan is to raise them to become Godly women and help them find and fulfill their destiny in Christ.
One of the reasons for my trip to India at this time was to install a well at the new larger home for the girls making it habitable and ready to occupy. Until now they had been living in a small rented house.
Installing the new well was not without challenges. The first day we drilled until dusk stopping at a depth of 550 feet with no sign of water. That night we prayed and when we returned the next morning we discovered plenty of sweet water at a depth of only 39 feet.
A pump was installed, a storage tank was placed on the roof, pipe and electric were connected and the switch turned on. Now the girls have all the water they could possibly need. In fact, the contractor told us ours is one of the deepest wells in the area and will provide water even in the most severe drought.
Carolyn and I would like to thank our partners who pray for us regularly and support us financially. You are making a tremendous difference in the lives of these girls.
A special note of thanks to my friend and colleague at Global Messenger Service, Steve Smith, whose partnership in the India Well Project helped make it a wonderful success.

Turn Their Home into a Power House for God
I recently returned to the USA following a very fruitful and productive trip to India.
While I was there I spent seven days in the port city of Vishakhapatnam (Vizag) in Andhra Pradesh, teaching at the Victory School of Ministry (VSOM) organized and conducted by our friends Rajan and Beckye.
Students at VSOM receive teaching to help them understand who they are in Christ and encouragement to find and fulfill their destiny in Christ.
I was there to show the students how to turn their home into a power house for God through house church (cell) ministry.
I explained that the churches we read about in the New Testament of the Bible were actually house churches.
I described the purpose of the house church, which is to build up one another while at the same time reaching out to the lost. I showed them how to conduct the meetings, build a leadership team and implement the house church evangelism strategy.
On the last day there was an anointing and impartation service where the faculty laid hands on each student, anointed them with oil and sent them out into the great harvest. God is going to do great things in and through these students.

Update: Carolyn and I continue to itinerate in the USA, visiting churches, meeting pastors, speaking to missions committees and telling anyone who will listen about the wonderful things God is doing in India. We are also available to visit your church or small group or speak to your missions committee.

Leaving for India
Today I will board an airplane to leave for India.
The itinerary for this trip will take me from St. Louis, Missouri to Minneapolis, Minnesota to Tokyo, Japan to Singapore then on to Chennai, India.
The total distance is 11,528 miles and travel time is nearly 40 hours.
During the time Carolyn and I have been in the USA itinerating, visiting churches and meeting partners, our ministry in India has continued on.
While in India this trip, I will be teaching at Victory School of Ministry in Vizag, visiting our church planting projects in Dharmapuri and Chittoor and meeting with our key leaders.
We will also be installing a well at the new home for baby girls we have rescued from infanticide.
I ask you to please pray for me while I’m in India May 26th to June 17th.
Pray for:
Protection while traveling
Anointing for preaching and teaching
Wisdom for every decision
Discernment for every challenge
Favor of God every wherever I go

House Church Report - Dharmapuri, India
Nearly twelve years ago, Carolyn and I helped Pastor Shine Thomas start one house church in a village near Dharmapuri, India.
By the grace of God, under our leadership and through the hard work of Pastor Shine, that one house church has grown into a network of house churches reaching 88 previously unreached villages throughout Dharmapuri and Salem Districts in South India.
Right now, more than 725 people regularly attend our house church meetings. If you were to bring them all together in one place they would form one of the largest congregations in South India. Praise the Lord!
Outreach activities taking place through our network of house churches include:
Adult Literacy Training for 150 Villagers
Nurses Training for 29 Village Girls
HIV/AIDS Awareness Training in Villages
UNDP Human Trafficking Awareness Training in Villages
Support and Counseling for 89 Inmates at a Boys Jail
Children’s Home for 60 Boys and Girls
Home for Baby Girls Rescued from Infanticide
Why am I telling you all of this? Without the faithful prayers and generous support of partners like you none of this would be possible. Lives are being touched and souls are being saved as a result of your partnership.
Your prayers and financial support of our ministry are an investment in the Kingdom of God in India. Thank you.
By the way, I will be visiting our house church in Dharmapuri later this month during my upcoming trip to India May 26 to June 18.
Please Pray and Give
As you can imagine, with support for all of our outreach activities plus salaries for all of our workers, the financial need is great. In fact, right now it is more than we can handle.
To give you an idea, just to maintain our current size and outreach activities we need to double our support.
And this does not include special projects such as the upcoming Vacation Bible School for 2000 children or the new well needed at the home for rescued baby girls in Dharmapuri along with our colleague Steve Smith.
We are asking for your prayers and inviting you to partner with us financially in our outreach activities and projects in India.
Please pray and consider becoming a monthly partner or increasing your current monthly support.
We also ask you to consider sending a special gift for one or both of the special projects mentioned above.
Thank you. May God bless you and provide all your needs, both in times of plenty and in financially challenging times.

Training Church Planters in Avadi, India
During my recent trip to India I spent three days teaching at Showers of Blessing Ministry (SOBM) Bible School in Avadi, India. SOBM Bible School is organized and conducted by our friends Sam and Elizabeth.
They are also partners with us in numerous ministry activities including outreach to lepers and widows as well as hosting teams from America.
Students at SOBM Bible School receive six months of intense practical training prior to entering full-time ministry. I joined the faculty in 2007 and this was the third group of church planters that I have trained.
I taught the students how to birth and develop a house church. I explained that the churches we read about in the New Testament of the Bible were actually house churches.
I explained the purpose of the house church is to build up one another while at the same time reaching out to the lost. I described how to conduct the meetings, build a leadership team and implement the house church evangelism strategy.
Fourteen more students are now trained and are ready to begin planting house churches when they graduate. By the way, I am planning to attend their graduation ceremony next month when I return to India.
